Pan American Airways, originally founded in 1927, was an air mail and passenger service airline. It's name eventually changed to Pan American World Airways, but was most commonly known as Pan Am. It was the largest international air carrier and unofficial flag carrier of the United States operating between Key West, Florida and Havana, Cuba. It has been credited with leading innovation in the international Airline industry and were considered the pioneers of the electronic reservation system. Internationally recognizied by it's Blue Globe logo called the "Blue Meatball". Pan Am's flagship terminal was located in the John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City. Operations began in October 19, 1927 and sadly ended on December, 4, 1991. 64 years in business....not to shabby! Pan Am will always be remembered fondly by all those who had the priviledge to fly with them!
